John lived in Germany for a few years almost 50 years ago. Of course a lot has changed in that time but it remains both interesting and beautiful....

Switzerland is a very beautiful country and 3 days is not enough but this time round was really just to drop in on old friends....

Portugal will go down as one of our most memorable trips and somewhere we must visit again. Beautiful, friendly, and peaceful in the countryside and the old parts of cities of Porto and Lisbon....

We've always enjoyed the Star Flyer trips and planned our holidays around them. Real sailing with a tiny number of passengers is so much better than the mass cruises. We suspect the food is a lot better as well - gourmet all the way....

Wish we could have spent more time exploring this fascinating and friendly set of islands. Amazing history with multi-cultural influences on language and architecture....

Sicily - visiting Catania (briefly), Cefalu, Ragusa and Syracuse before heading of on the next stage of our journey....

Be prepared to be rocked by the size and scope of the various ruins. Also be prepared to walk, and walk, and walk....

Firenze was a dazzling array of superb architecture and spectacular and priceless art and other treasures....
